Caipa-what? (Caipirinha) is the national cocktail of Brazil, is emerging as the new cocktail for summer ‘08 (and we say: and Beyond). The traditional version of the caipirinha is made from Cachaça a distilled liquor made from the juice of pressed sugarcane, muddled limes and sugar served on the rocks, but it can also be made with other fruits such as passion fruit, pineapple, mangoes, and strawberries. The caipirinha craze in the US has been fueled by a growing interest in Cachaça,its primary ingredient.
